
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the highest level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in the team's winning the league title. Morgan was 22 years old at the time, and was the youngest member of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final match against Canada. She finished 2012 with 21 goals, 28 goals, and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. This made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
