Carey was a high fashion model, who measures at nearly 5'10", was popular with American fashion houses like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. In 1979 the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists named her dad Scientist of The Year. Carey was brought up across the globe due to the work of her father. While in college she started modeling for a small amount of time and was able to attract the attention of Ford model Agency representatives in New York. She briefly spent time and studied in Paris prior to returning to New York. Her modeling as well as her college career took off and she was featured on Vogue's, Glamour's, and many other magazine covers. In addition to modeling, she attended New York University full-time to obtain a degree in literature. Gradually she became interested in acting and studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Her acting debut came through a tiny part in the film 'Club Paradise" in 1986, starring Robin Williams. In her spare time, she enjoys ski, white-water rafting rock climbing, and wind-surfing.
