She is daughter of actress June Lockhart. Lockhart's career started in a young age. Her first role was aged four, when she starred in T is for Tumbleweed. The short film about the subject was chosen for nomination at the Academy Awards. The actress would often be seen working on set with her mother, so that she could learn the intricacies of the business world. Lockhart was even a part of several episodes of Lassie. Anne has been reported to have rejected Laurie Strode (John Carpenter's 1978 Halloween thriller) and Jaime Lee Curtis took the role. John. Carpenter says that he was interested in her playing the character but that she turned the offer down. Anne is unable to remember John Carpenter having contacted her nor offering the role. It is possible that one of her representatives declined the job for her, but without notifying the actress. Glen Larson chose her initially and then sent her a draft written script. She was to appear on the show Battlestar Galactica, which aired beginning in 1978. She initially refused the part as the character wasn't that robust. Glen created a brand new role for her, with Sheba as a stronger persona. After having read the initial 25 pages of the The Living Legend script, The Living Legend she accepted immediately. It lasted for one season. Also, she starred alongside Desi Arnaz Jr. Melanie Griffith Robert Carradine, Desi Arnaz (son Desi Arnaz & Lucille ball) in Joyride in 1977. And she costarred with Michael Moriarty as The Dark Tower in 1987.
